知识经济是有别于传统农业、传统工业的新的文明，它翻开了经济学研究的新的一页。虽然中国与知识经济社会尚有不小的距离，但理论研究却不应滞后，而应成为实践的先导。知识经济是经济学的一个新的研究领域，对知识经济的深入研究涉及到大量新的理论观点的确立及旧的传统经济观念的批判，其理论意义特别重大。对知识经济主要特点、发展规律的探索和认识，将指导和雉动中国走向知识经济社会的现代化进程，研究成果将推动和促进国内学术界对知识经济的共同关注和探讨，并将对政府制定社会经济发展战略及企业转变观念、科学决策产生重要影响。
Knowledge economy is a new civilization, which differs from traditional agriculture and tradition al industry, it opens up a new chapter for economic research- There is a long way to go before China gets into knowledge economy society, but theoretical research should not lag behind, it should go ahead of practice. Knowledge economy is a completely new research domain of eco nomics, making a thorough study about it will form many new theoretical ideas and modify old ones. This has a vital bearing on theoretical research and economic growth. Enhancing research on main characteristics and law of development of knowledge economy will speed up the pace of China entering knowledge economy society and modernization drive.
