The system and methods of the modem western psychotherapy have shown some problems. The fundamental reasons for these are the mechanical materialism and the dualistic logic contained in the western traditional culture. With the philosophical direction of Whitehead＇s organic philosophical ideas,these problems can be mitigated and eliminated in a sense. The psychotherapy ideas embedded in Chinese traditional culture can provide some useful enlightenment and supplements for the development of Western and the world＇s psychotherapy.
