"一下(yixia)" and Politeness Principle

从"礼貌原则"对句子的表达要求出发,依托一定规模的语料库,以"V一下"格式为例证,考察"小量义"格式的语用功能,认为现代汉语中"礼貌原则"的表达和"小量义"格式有着密切的关系。在对500个例句进行穷尽性分析的基础上,通过具体的例句和数据,验证了本文的观点,即现代汉语中"小量义"格式一个重要语用功能是表现"礼貌原则"。

From the requirement of politeness principle for the expression of a sentence and based on the Chinese corpus with certain scale, the pragmatic function of ＂小量义（meaning of little quantity） ＂ format is investi- gated by taking the ＂V一下（ verb ＋一下 ）＂ pattern as an example. It is considered that the expression of po- liteness principle relate closely to the ＂小量义 （ meaning of little quantity） ＂ format. By analysis of 500 sentences, it is concluded that one important pragmatic function of the ＂ 小量义（meaning of little quantity） ＂ format in modem Chinese is to express the polite principle.
