Identification and quantitation of conjunctival aerobic bacterial flora from healthy Chongqing residents at different ages

摘要 目的调查重庆市不同年龄健康人结膜囊需氧菌种类及数量。方法湿棉拭于33例儿童、31例青年人、30例老年人双眼结膜囊取标本(取材前后称量棉拭运送管,差值即为标本质量)行细菌培养,阳性者进行细菌鉴定及定量计算:菌落数(colony forming units,CFUs)/标本质量。结果老年组结膜囊细菌检出率(93.33%)显著高于儿童组(45.45%)及青年组(50.00%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.01),且表皮葡萄球菌、类白喉棒状杆菌、金黄色葡萄球菌在老年组检出率均较高;老年组单眼共生细菌种类显著多于另外2组(P<0.01);儿童组结膜囊菌群数量明显少于青年组及老年组(P<0.01);类白喉棒状杆菌数量随年龄增长而增加,表皮葡萄球菌数量在老年组显著多于儿童组(P<0.01)。结论老年人结膜囊需氧菌种类、数量均高于青年及儿童,应该引起眼科医师重视。 Objective To identify and quantitate the eonjunctival aerobic bacterial flora from healthy peo ple of 3 age groups in Chongqing city. Methods Samples taken with moist swabs from the lower fornix of both eyes of 33 children (9.85 ± 0.57 years old), 31 youths (21.23 ± 0. 88 years old) and 30 elders (72.97 ± 4.94 years old) were given bacterial cultures. Positive ones were identified and colony forming units (CFUs) were counted. Bacterial quantity was expressed as the number of CFUs divided by the weight of each sample measured before and after collection. Results The elders showed a higher isolation frequency (93.33%) than children (45.45%) and youths (50.00%) which had statistically difference (P 〈0. 01 ). Corynebacterium diphtheroides, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus aureus isolated from the elders all had a greater percentage. The elders also had a larger number of species per eye than did children and youths (P 〈 0. 01 ). Children showed a lower quantity of conjunctival aerobic bacterial flora than the other 2 groups ( P 〈 0. 01 ). The quantity of Corynebacterium diphtheroides became larger when people grew older, and the elders group had a grater number of Staphylococcus epidermidis than children group ( P 〈 0.01 ). Conclusion The number of species and quantity of conjunctival aerobic bacterial flora from the elders were both larger than those from children and youths, which should be concerned by ophthalmologist.
