Pursuit of Location Art──On the Design of the Hall of Architecture,Overseas University Expansion Project

文章认为建筑作为一种人为的空间环境，只有当抽象的物化空间转化为有特性有情感的人化空间时，建筑才能成为真正的场所艺术。这是建筑认识的深化，也是建筑创作的追求，华侨大学建筑系馆扩建设计就是在这一理论的指导下，设计创造的一处折射着主体精神和地域精神的人化空间。

This paper introduces the design concepts and methods used for the expansion of the Hall of Architecture of the Overseas Chinese University and analyses in detail the design's spiritual orientation from the vantage point of ontology and the doctrine of arena. The author maintains that as a man - made space environment,architecture cannot be turned into real arena art unless abstract material space is turned into human space with character and feeling. This is the deepening of architectural understanding and the pursuit of architectural creation. Designed and created under the guidance of this theory, this expansion project is none other than a human space reflecting the ontological and regional spirit.
