美术新课程的实施，美术教育理念的转变要求美术教师所具备的学科知识和专业能力应与新课程标准相适应；新的美术课程对美术教师素质提出了新的更高的要求。美术教师的素质和能力的高低直接影响着学生的创作力发挥，所以笔者认为作为一名专业的美术教师在自身的创作上和指导学生创作上应当具备一定的能力，这才是一个专业美术教师的“本份”。
