Discusses NC transformation of CA6140 common lathe on WA -31D NC system, It represented the scheme and operatingprinciple of the NC reforming of lathe and how to reform existing common lathe. The reformed scheme in machine and electrical parts, the amelioration of feed axis system and principal axis, the design of NC system were described in detail. The result shows that after the transformation the working precision, the automatization level and productivity have been raised, and offered a way of NC reforming for corporations.
