浅析汉英成语中的文化差异及翻译策略

Analyze the Cultural Differences of Chinese and English Idioms and Translation Strategies

本文以中西文化差异为研究对象,论述了汉英成语中的文化差异,以及文化差异对汉英成语翻译的影响与制约。笔者在遵循中西文化差异的前提下,提出了适合汉英成语翻译的五种策略:直译、意译、增译、节译、修辞性翻译。

This paper researches on the Chinese-Western cultural differences, illustrates the cultural differences in the Chinese and English Idioms and the effects and constraints on the Chinese and English Idioms＇ translation which caused by the cultural differences. Based on such cultural differences,1 suggested five suitable strategies for Chinese and English Idioms＇ translation ： literal translation, free translation, explained translation, translation section, rhetorical Translation.
