摘要
语言与文化密不可分,中西方不同的文化赋予英汉语言独特的文化内涵。言语禁忌,这一语言现象普遍存在于英语与汉语中。但是,由于中西文化的差异,英汉语中的言语禁忌大相径庭。该文以言语禁忌在中西文化中的不同表现为例,分析探讨英汉语言语禁忌的文化内涵,以及在翻译时如何尽可能完整无误地传递英汉语言语禁忌所包含的文化内涵。
Language and culture are closely related, and the differences between cultures influence the features of languages. As one of the linguistic attributes, taboos in China and Western countries are quite different due to their cultural differences. With sufficient authentic examples, the present thesis makes an analysis of the cultural connotations within the Chinese and English taboos, and the effective ways of delivering those connotations in translation.
