The Present Use of the Achang Language and its Development edited by Mr. Dai Qingxia is an excellent work of the ethnic social linguistics. It takes both the macro-perspective and the microperspective into consideration, and has a scientific approach, rich contents and data with great readability. Through a case study, the book aims to help the Government to solve the ethnic problems and provide references for the making of policies for the minority languages, especially the languages on the verge of extinction.
