A view on translating skills of English novel

本文运用情景组合模式理论对英文小说的语篇特点进行了分析,并利用翻译实例探讨了小说的翻译技巧;对英文小说的翻译提出了自己的见解。在翻译过程中,不能随便拆分和合并原文中的情景;应使翻译作品的情景结构与原文保持一致;对原文的变通不能跨越情景的边界,要以不损害原文的情景结构模式为标准。

This paper mainly discussed the translating skills of English novel by using situation combination theory. It has discussed the usage of situation combination theory on English detective novel＇ s translation. The point this paper holds is： The change a translator made to the surface structure of the novel should be based on the deep structure of it and the change of situation should be avoided so that the deep structure of the novel would not be broke.
