本文描述了于1993-1994年在广东茂名发现的海蚓属蚯蚓一新种──广东海蚓Pon-toscoloxguangdongensissp．nov，模式标本存放于杭州师范学院生物系。
During the study on soil invertebrates in typical areas of China, a new species belong to genus Pontoscolox has been identified and the diagnosis is given as follows.Pontoscolox guangdongensis sp.nov.Length: 90 - 157mm; Width: 4 - 5mm; Segments: 103 - 210; (Type: Length: 146mm; Width: 5mm; Segments: 205 ). No dorsal pore. Clitellum saddle - shaped, in XIV - 1 /2 XXII. Sex glandular ridge in 1/2 XVIII - 1/2 XXI. Setae eight per segment and setae of posterior part of tile body in quinumx arrangement. Seperthmathecal pore 3 pairs, in 5/6 - 7/8. Septa 8/9 absent.Three pairs of calciferous glands in VI - VIII. Seinal vesicles very long extending to XVIII. No prostatic gland.Sperthmathecl duct clavate, ampulla oval - shaged. No diberticulun.Locality:Guangdong Province, collected in 1993 - 1994, and 9 speimens deposited in the Deparment of Biology,Hangzhou Normal College.
