n this paper, we present a statistical investigation based on the 5 GHz VLBIimaging survey in the southern hemisphere. Two VLBI observing sessions are summarized and comparisons are made with the statistical results from the Pearson-Readhead VLBI survey, the Wehrle et al. variable-source survey and EGRET detections, respectively.
