构建和谐社会需要加强公民意识教育

Building the Harmonious Society Needs to Strengthen the Education of Civic Awareness

十七大报告提出要加强公民意识教育,树立社会主义民主法治、自由平等、公平正义理念。公民意识的确立是构建社会主义和谐社会的重要内容。因此,作为教师应承担起教育祖国未来的重任,在加强自身的公民意识的同时,应培养学生的公民意识,为构建和谐社会培养合格公民。

The seventeenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that we needed to step up education about civic awareness and establish socialist concepts of democracy, the rule of law, freedom, equality, equity and justice. The establishment of civic awareness is an essential part of the harmonious socialist society. So, as a teacher, we should take the responsibility to educate the next generation. In order to bring up qualified citizens for the harmonious socialist society, we teachers ought to step up students＇ civic awareness while improving ours.
