Research on Rickshaw Pullers of Ji'nan during the 1920s and 1930s

20世纪二三十年代,济南人力车夫群体具有基本维持万人以上的规模,数量较为庞大;他们虽然劳动强度很大,但从经济方面说生活尚不算是十分苦窘。济南落后的城市现代客运交通、山东严重的农民离村现象及山东人"闯关东"是影响济南人力车夫群体数量及经济状况的主要因素。

During the 1920s and 1930s,the number of rickshaw pullers in Ji＇nan was more than ten thousand, which was relatively huge. Despite having to engage in an extremely laborious job ,the living conditions of rickshaw pullers in Ji＇nan was not too bad on the aspect of economy. The backward urban public traffic of Ji＇nan,the severe ＂peasants-leaving-home＂ phenomenon and the movement of ＂braving the journey to the Northeast China＂ in Shandong province were the main factors affecting the number and living conditions of rickshaw pullers in Ji＇nan.
