民本思想向来是古今知识分子所关注的重大话题之一,而在民主观念已于中华大地成为普遍性观念的今天,关于民本与民主之间的话题更是成了当今学者所讨论的学术热点。为了对于此学术话题作出自己的思考与回应,拟在重新审视我们的传统思想、文化的基础上来探究民本传统的历史渊源,解读其所昭示的影响及意义。

As we know, people have been always thinking of ＂taking the peple as the foundation＂ both ancient and modem times. Furthermore, the subject between ＂taking the peple as the foundation＂ and democracy has become the hot spot that scholars like to discuss, when the concept of democracy has become very importantly. In order to show my response in this academic subject, I＇ ll re - examine our traditional thinking and culture. Meanwhile, I＇ ll explore the historical origins of ＂take the peple as the foundation＂, interpret their meaning and influences.
