The mechanisms to produce error in current transformer and the factor to influence error have been elaborated. 10% error curve of permissible error in the application of relay is introduced. The calculation method and procedure of actual error in current transformer ＆ secondary permissible load impedance are put forward with example. The permissible value of secondary load in current transformer can be calculated and selected as per real condition in power system.
