Science and Humanities——An Investigation of Differences in Two Cultures

全文共分上、下两篇,上篇首先把科学文化与人文文化的基本区别表述为科学具有突出的工具性及价值相关性,而人文则表现出鲜明的目的性和价值直接性。并分别从言说的方式、使用的语言、针对的对象、发挥的作用、文本的意义几个方面对存在于这两种文化之间的具体区别作出了详尽细致的描述。本文将在上篇论述的基础上,从持取的态度、追求的目标、发展的模式、最终的结果等方面进一步讨论两种文化之间的区别。

The paper first attempts to make a distinction between scientific culture and humanistic culture in that the former stresses on its instrumentalism and relevant value while the latter marks its clear objective and direct value. Based on this, the paper makes a detailed and comprehensive description of this distinction from nine aspects such as mode of discourse, the use of language, the targeted audience, the function, the textual meaning, the attitude, the objective, the mode of development and the final results.
