Eliminating Differences:Ten Different Trends in Media Studies

本文通过理清媒体研究界的五组相对的思潮(包括文化和语境思潮、数字和跨媒体思潮、历史和空间思潮、视觉和听觉思潮、物性和话语思潮),寻找其间的联系与交叉,提出应抓住机会,对边界的融合加以利用,并从调解的立场开发这些挑战性思潮的辩证结合所带来的无穷潜力。

This paper deals with five pairs of relative trends in media study including culture vs. context, digital vs. cross media, history vs. space, visual vs. audio, substance vs. discourse and tries to find out their links and crossings. It is believed that we need to grasp opportunities to make use of their marginal fusion and tap the tremendous potentials brought forth by the dialectical combination of these challenging trends.
