Developing and Building the Network Database for Jiangsu S&T Information Network

本文以江苏科技信息网上的数据库开发为背景，简要分析了流行的网络版数据库管理系统的特点，讨论了用普通数据库管理系统开发网络版数据库的利弊，并在此基础上，提出了以结合Ｗｅｂ和ＤＢＭＳ技术的嵌入式数据库方式开发江苏科技网数据库的方法。这些开发完成的数据库已在试运行的江苏科技信息网上投入使用。

Jiangsu S&T Information Network (JSSTINET) is a computer network over whole Jiangsu using TCP/IP protocol built by Jiangsu S&T Commission, and a part of Chinese S&T Information Network. On the background of developing the network database of JSSTINET, this article discusses the characteristic of general network DBMS and Web, analyses its gains and losses. According to above, the author recommends developing the network database for JSSTINET by embedded database, this technology combines Web with DBMS. The author has designed some network databases for JSSTINET by this way, and they have been running on JSSTINET.
