摘要
中国古典艺术散文是一种个性的、智慧的、精微的表现艺术,高度的表现性和审美性是其重要特征。由于跨时空、跨语言和跨文化的巨大障碍,古典艺术散文的英译一直是一个难题。从古典艺术散文译文的读者入手,考察可能的读者群范围,对可能的读者群作大致的描述和定位,分析这个可能的读者群对古典艺术散文译文的语言期待、文体期待、形象期待和意蕴期待,对古典艺术散文的英译有很大的启发和指导作用,在此基础上提出的古典艺术散文的英译策略才能更符合读者的审美需求。从这个意义上讲,读者虽是翻译的最终环节,但却提前介入到译者的考虑中。
Classical Chinese artistic essays are the highly graceful, refined and expressive works of art, rich in personality, wisdom and literary charm. They are characterized by their expressive and aesthetic functions. Due to the great obstacles caused by time, space, different languages and cultures, the translation of classical Chinese artistic essays remains a difficult job. The study on the possible readers of the translations of classical Chinese artistic essays, including the range of the possible readers and their aesthetic reading expectations of language, genre, image and connotation, is instructive to the translation practice. The specific translation strategies in light of the study on the readers may conform more to the readers' aesthetic demand. Readers are the ultimate target of translation practice, and translators must take them into consideration in advance.
