摘要
多义词在英语中普遍存在,也是语言学研究的重点。语境教学法和各种明示教学方法相继被提出和付诸实践。文章结合原型意义理论、潜层概念理论及莱考夫和约翰逊的意象图式和隐喻投射理论,以多义动词为例,通过对中国某大学非英语专业约80名学生的实验研究和定量分析,探讨了基本义在多义词习得中的促进作用。
The phenomenon of polysemy exists extensively in English. It has been one of the main issues in linguistic study. Context- inferring method and explicit teaching techniques are proposed and applied in vocabulary teaching. On the basis of the archetypal theory, the underlying concept theory, and the cognitive theory of Lakoff and Johnson about image schema and metaphorical projection, the paper studies the facilitative function of primary sense in acquisition of polysemous words, mainly verbs, through an experimental study and quantitive analysis on about 80 non-English majors in a Chinese college.
