摘要
契诃夫艺术世界中的职业是人物性格的重要属性。本文详细分析了契诃夫笔下形形色色的职业和从事职业的人所受到的身心限制,认为指导"职业"的中心思想并不能挽救从业者的职业病,按照人的职业划分高低贵贱是极其荒谬的想法,必然导致人性的扭曲。契诃夫着意刻画的非典型职业性格超脱了任何一种公式化的简单分类,向我们揭示了隐藏在职业后面的人的真实面貌。
Profession in Chekhov's world is an important property of character.This essay analyses various professions and mental limits to professionists,arguing that the'Common Idea',which is regarded as guidance to profession,actually cannot cure professional disease.It is absurd to differentiate people according to their professions,which will lead to distortion of human nature.The'atypical'professional character Chekhov describes defies any simple and formularized classification,thereby revealing a person's true nature hidden behind his profession.
