利用CMS实验研究底夸克偶素的产生和极化

摘要 介绍了在大型强子对撞机(LHC)上的CMS探测器对底夸克偶素产生截面的测量方法、提取极化参数的算法以及触发率的计算。给出了利用CMS实验探测的底夸克偶素的分辨率、重建效率和触发率等。目的是在前所未有的超高能量下,通过测量强子对撞产生底夸克偶素的截面和极化度来验证非相对论量子色动力学(NRQCD)的因子化方法。 The authors introduces the measurement of bottomium production cross section, the method to extract polarization parameter and the calculation of trigger rate with the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) detector on LHC (Large Hadron Collider). The bottomium mass resolution, reconstruction efficiency and trigger rate are simulated using CMS software. The purpose of this study is to verify the NRQCD(Non-Relativistic Quantum Chromo Dynamics) factorization method by measuring the bottomium production cross section and polarization in the hadron collision at the unprecedented high energy.
