This paper describes the importance of oxygen in the pyrometallurgicla process as well asprinciple and characteristics of direct determination of oxyen .The application of oxygen determination technique in end point control of oxidation period and reduction period and in quality control of copperprocessing and oxygen -free copper production is described and problems and prospets of its applicationare analyzed .
