Department libraries constitute an important part of the literature retrieval system in universilies. Proeurement of proper literatures is indispensable in the management of the library. However the concrete work is both troublesome and diffieuh to do to a maximal extent. The policy in the School of History, Hebei Normal University of minimal spending on maximal literatures is worth advocating.
