Comparative Study on the Trends of Ecological Consumption and Economic Development in China—Consideration of Developing Low Carbon Economy in Western Regions

资源与环境问题是我国社会、经济发展的双重压力,目前,我们在经济发展和环境保护方面均已取得了一定的成绩。但也应该看到,我国环境形势仍然严峻,这就需要提高社会资源的综合利用效率,转变传统的经济发展方式。经济发展方式由粗放型向集约型转变是一个国家或地区经济发展到一定阶段后的必然选择。

Faced with the dual pressure of resource and environmental restriction, China is establishing an ecological civilization and constructing a harmonious society＇ according to scientific outlook on development. Sustainable development is adopted and now China has achieved delightful success in the aspect of economic development and environmental protection. But we should also be clear headed to see that there is still quite severe pressure in environment, which presses us to improve the comprehensive utilization ratio of social resource and to transform the traditional mode of economic development. The transformation of the mode of economic development from extensive form to intensive form is the inevitable choice for all countries or regions when their economy has developed to a certain level.
