Teaching Chinese composition in the United States by Fang Fan introduces his composition teaching methods in America. By a comparison with the high expenses and low efficiency in the present compositon instruction in China, the author has found three implications： firstly, more attention should be paid to students＇ cooperation; secondly, writing practice should be highlighted and thirdly, students＇ initatives should be encouraged.
