As the global financial crisis ravages,the service business has become a pro fit driver of the IT industry and IBM is one of the bene ficiaries.In 2008,IBM's revenue reached USD103.6 billion and its pre-tax profit amounted to USD16.7 billion while it posted a net profit of USD4.4 billion for Quarter 4 of 2008.Its revenue structure shows that the revenue from its hardware business is decreasing while the greatest profit growth comes from its software and service businesses.
