摘要
平民学习问题是社会发展的基本问题,是改善民生的根本途径,平民需要属于自己的教育形式。远程教育是平民的教育,必须以促进平民学习与发展为宗旨及价值取向,坚持走平民化的发展道路。历史地形成的平民学习文化,是远程教育发展的基础和土壤,根植于平民学习的文化土壤,远程教育才具有内在的活力和强大的生命力。基于平民学习文化,中国远程教育必须创建贴近平民生活、满足平民需求、接受平民评价、寻求平民支持、体现平民学习特点的平民化发展模式。
The learning society aims to serve the mass. Therefore, in the endeavor to promote social development and educational innovation, an important issue, which is also a strategic task, is to explore and develop a new mode of education which is in line with mass learning features and meets the learning demands of the society. The affordances of distance education for mass learning in China are increasingly in evidence, justifying distance education as a dominant mode of mass learning. The author argues that such affordances need highlighting and that no efforts should be spared to give full play to these affordances in practice. He also believes that distance education in China should be deeply rooted in mass learning culture in order to sustain inherent dynamics and full potentials. He concludes the article by maintaining that to manifest its mass learning culture, distance education in China should be relevant to the life of ordinary people, meet their demands, be subject to their evaluation, seek their support, and cater for their learning features.
