西安窦寨村北周佛教石刻造像

Douzhaichun Stone Buddhist Sculptures of Northern Zhou Unearthed in Xi'an

窦寨村北周佛教石刻造像窖藏位于西安市未央区汉城乡窦寨村东,汉长安城遗址中心区偏北。2007年,西安市文物保护考古所对其作了清理发掘,共出土石刻佛像6尊、菩萨像6尊,以及大量的石刻残块和陶片。造像均为青石质,有不同程度的残缺,身上的贴金彩绘保存较好。从制作手法和造型风格等方面推断,造像的时代应为北周时期。窦寨村北周佛教石刻造像窖藏的发现为研究汉唐之间长安地区佛教寺院的发展情况提供了重要资料。

The hoard of those stone Buddhist sculptures located in the east of Douzhaicun Village, Hanchengxiang Countryside, Weiyang District, Xi＇an City, north to the centre of the relics of Chang＇an City of Han Dynasty. In 2007, Xi＇an Municipal Institute of Archaeology and Preservation of Cultural Relics unearthed the hoard. Six figures of Buddha, six figures of Bodhisattva, many broken statues and pottery tiles were found. All of the statues are made of bluestone, and damaged in different degrees. The gold foil and color on the statues were preserved fairly well. Judging from technique and style, the statues should be made in Northern Zhou period. This excavation provides important information to study of the development of Buddhism temples in Chang＇an City between the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty.
