French oil and gas producer Total has recently signed two memoranda of understanding with China University of Petroleum and East China University of Science and Technology to enhance scientific cooperation and build wide＇ranging partnerships. The company has also launched the Total China scientific forum in Shanghai. This first session of the forum focused on CO2 capture, conversion and storage （CCS） technology.
