Abstract The first and second item in the chapter Arthralgia Apoplexy of Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber discuss the pathogenic factors of apoplexy through pluse condition.The main idea of the two items is 'body resistance weakened while pathogenic factors prevailing',which is almost completely denied now.However,in view of the theory and clinical observations and experimental researches,it seems necessary to make further study of the etiology of apoplexy in Synopsis of Prescription of the Golden Chamber.
