Objective To explore use psychological-health inventory (PHI) was used as a criterion for conscription filtration. Method Any factors of PHI, used to evaluate young men entered into the draft-center, are statistically analysed by SPSS13.0. The possibility of taking factor score 60 or 70 as a borderline of distinguishing disqualification from eligibility are tested. A suppose of compounding differentiate are suggested, and evaluated by comparing sensitivity and specificity between two modes with psychiatric interview. Results The rate of disqualification was high to 40.4% - 63.6% if it was taken that any factor score was higher than 60 as borderline to distinguish, and to 10.1% - 15.7% if score was higher than 70 as borderline. The sensitivity was 47.37% for borderline 70, the specificity 93.13%, and the sensitivity and specificity were 100% ,58.89% for borderline 60, whereas for the suppose of compounding differentiate, the rate of disqualification was 1.19% - 1.82%, and potential-disqualification 6.74% - 8.55%, the sensitivity was 78.95%, the specificity 99.08% for disqualification, and the sensitivity and specificity were 100% and 92.52% for potential-disqualification, respectively. Conclusion Using compounding differentiate mode to filtrate young-men adopted to enter into army could check patients with mental disorders out. It has nicer sensitivity and specificity, and counld be used as a criterion for conscription filtration.
