80年代后期以来，我国医学英文权威著作藏书日益贫乏，资深医学家强烈呼吁应重视其对医、教、研的影响。对书刊价值的平衡认识是解决问题的关键。“小型医学图书馆书刊精选目录”与“内科医师文库”是医学藏书建设两种决定性工具。优选外国书商是重要的，本文对两家美国公司做了小型比较，供同行讨论。采集馆员应有紧迫感，更多学习医学文献学，在多载体出版物中进行最佳选择。
Since the late eighties, the collection of authoritative English medica1 works has become Poorer and poorer. Senior medical professionals are strongly complaining of the serious impact caused by this condition on education, research, and medical care. A balanced recognition of the value between journals and books is pivotal for the solution. The'Selected List of Books and Journals for the Small Medical Library' and 'A Library for Internists'are two decisive tools for medical collettion development. Optimal selection of foreign book vendors is a key Point. We offer a small comparison of two US companies in this paper for further discussion. Acquisition librarians must feel pressing in learning more about medical literature, making best selection in the ocean of medical publications on multiple media and better mastery of written English.
