Singing the Praises of Power:One of the Basic Aesthetic Standards by Lu Xun

鲁迅的审美取向可以提挈为四维:"尚新"、"主用"、"崇力"、"弘真"。"崇力",即"以力为美",是鲁迅审美化"社会话语"的主旋律,是鲁迅关于"美本质"问题的深刻体认,也是鲁迅创作风格的显著征象。鲁迅"以力为美"的审美取向迎应了中国近现代救亡、启蒙的历史使命的吁求,有久远的感召力和型范意义。

There are four basic value standards in Lu Xun＇s aesthetic idea： a） to produce new artistic form; b） to pay attention to the social function of literature; c） to sing the praises of spirit power; d） to hold in esteem for truthfulness. To sing the praises of power is regarding strength as the beautiful. This is the aesthetic leading melody of Lu Xun＇s social words. This is the special knowledge about aesthetic essence of Lu Xun. This is the notable expression of L Xun＇s literary creation. Lu Xun＇s aesthetic idea was in keeping with the requirement of the national salvation and enlightment in the time that he lived in, and become the fine example for successors.
