Democracy and Science:the Only Way for Chinese Nation’s Great Rejuvenation——For Ninety Anniversary of the May 4th Movement

民主和科学是五四运动的两面旗帜,也是中国近代以来实现国富民强的必由之路。当代中国要实现中华民族的伟大历史复兴,仍需要高举这两面旗帜。高举民主的旗帜,就要以党内民主促进人民民主,以基层民主促进人民民主,以网络民主促进人民民主。高举科学的旗帜,就要坚持科学发展观,实施科教兴国战略,大力推进科技创新。

Democracy and science are two flags of the May 4th Movement, are also the only way for Chinese nation＇s great rejuvenation since 1840. The two flags are prerequisite for the development and progress to today＇s China. To hold high the flag of democracy, it is necessary to promote the people＇s democracy through the inner-party democracy and the grass-roots democracy and the network democracy. To hold high the flag of science, it is necessary to insist on the scientific concept of development, carry out the strategy of developing the country by relying on science and education, vigorously advance scientific and technological innovation.
