《浙东运河史》序

A Preface to the History of the Canal in East Zhejiang

《浙东运河史》阐述了浙东运河的历史变迁。浙东运河是我国最早的运河之一。先秦时期,浙东就出现了"山阴故水道"。到了晋代,地方循吏组织民众,疏凿西兴运河,西兴运河与"山阴故水道"相连,形成了浙东运河的骨架。隋代,连接到杭州的大运河已经与钱塘江对岸的浙东运河相连。

The History of the Canal in East Zhejiang elaborates the historical vicissitudes of the Canal in East Zhejiang. The Canal in East Zhejiang is one of the earliest canals in our country. In the era before the Chin Dynasty, there appeared＂ Shanyin Old Canal＂ in East Zhejiang. When it was Jin Dynasty, the local officials organized people to dredge the Xixing Canal and made it connected with the＂Shanyin Old Canal＂ forming the framework of the Canal in East Zhejiang. In Sui Dynasty,the Grand Canal,which had already reached Hangzhou, was connected with the Canal in East Zhejiang opposite the Qiantang River.
