The paper introduced the construction and operation of safety monitoring system for pressure steel pipes at Shangbiao hydropower station. Based on monitoring of discharge and pressure at the head and end of pressure steel pipes, the operation state of pressure steel pipes can be evaluated and controlled. The system was useful and helpful in operation, worthy reference for similar projects.
