The Role of Traditional Confucian Culture in College Students' General education

现代教育与传统教育途径与目的有了很大的不同,现代大学生思想现状出现各种各样的问题,包括理想和追求的功利化,价值悬浮,缺乏公民意识等。而传统儒家文化在应对这些现代教育产生的问题方面有其独到之处,有其重要的作用和意义,与此同时传统文化也可以在大学生通识教育中完成现代性转化。

The means and purposes of modem education differ greatly from that of traditional one. Nowadays various problems emerge in the mentality of college students, which include utilitarianism of ideal, fickleness of values and lack of consciousness of citizenship. The traditional Confucian culture can play a unique and important role in dealing with these problems and achieve its modem transformation during the general education of college students.
