摘要
长期以来,国内学术界关注的多是爱伦.坡的哥特小说、侦探小说、科幻小说以及"为艺术而艺术"的文艺观,很少有人提及其幽默讽刺小说。新历史主义主张将历史考察带入文学研究,从文化角度研究文学作品。文章尝试从新历史主义角度出发,将坡放回他所处的社会历史环境,以探讨其幽默讽刺小说的创作成因,认为坡创作幽默讽刺小说是出于对其生活的资本主义社会的严重不满和独特的文艺观不被时人所理解。
New Histuricism aims to understand literary work through its historical context and to understand cultural and intellectual history through literature. From the perspective of New Historieism, this paper endeavors to make an analysis of Poe＇s writing motive for his satirical novel, so as to find out the reason why he wrote his satirical novel.
