文章以语境研究理论为基础,以《射雕英雄传》中出现的四个"君子一言,驷马难追"的翻译为例,探讨语境对于成语翻译的重要作用及汉语成语英译的策略和方法,希望对译者应对汉语成语的英译有所帮助。
Grounded by the theories on context and illustrated by the translatton of ＂君子一言,驷马难追＂inthe novel The Eagle-shooting Heroes, the papcr attempts to discuss the importance of context in translating Chinese jdiomatic expressions and explores the principles and methods for the translation of Chinese idiomatic expressions into English, in the hope of providing some help for translators.
