On the Translator’s Subjectivity in Translation of A Dream of Red Mansions

《红楼梦》是中国四大经典名著之一,是一部反映中国封建社会、文化、历史、生活的百科全书,至今已被翻译成许多版本。《红楼梦》的翻译无论是对促进中外文化的交流,介绍中国的古典文化遗产,还是对译者主体性的研究都具有重要意义。从译者主体性的角度分析了《红楼梦》译本的多样性,探讨了不同译本产生的原因。

A Dream of Red Mansions, one of the four famous Chinese classical novels, is an encyclopaedia, which covers almost every aspect of the Chinese feudal society. Until now many translators have translated it into several versions with different languages. But the versions are shown in various styles. In this paper, we analyze the varieties of the versions, and explore the cause of it from the translator＇s subjectivity view.
