The Course of Technological Cognition in the West:From the Fringe to the Centre

技术与人类社会相始终,人在本质上也是一种技术性存在。自从人类进入文明社会以来,人们就没有停止过对技术的思考。然而,技术在西方的认知中却经历了一个从边缘到中心的发展历程。西方文明的早期,技术基本上处于哲学认知的边缘;中世纪,技术继续处于被遗忘的角落;从近代开始,技术逐渐受到有意识的关注;19世纪,技术开始进入哲学认知的殿堂;现代,技术逐渐成为哲学的主要问题,成了人们认知的中心。

Technology is in company with human all the time.And in essence,human being is a species of technical being.Since human being comes into the civilization,people do not stop thinking about technology.However,technology has come through a course from the fringe to the focus in the Western cognition.In the early civilization of the West,technology is on the fringe of cognition by and large.In the Middle Ages,technology has just the same in the oblivious corner.Starting from the early modern times,technology has gradually come under the conscious attention.In the 19th century,technology begins to enter the palace of philosophical cognition.In the modern time,technology gradually becomes the central issue of philosophy and the cognitive focus of people.
