This paper provides an analysis of the impacts of the global financial crisis on China＇s coal chemical industry and the inherent structural problems in China＇s coal chemical industry. The paper focuses especially on the countermeasures such as balanced development to be adopted by Chings coal chemical sector especially by the methanol industry in the face of the global financial crisis.
