Love plays an important role in both Stendhal＇s life and his creation. Taking Stendhal＇s novels Red and Black and Red and White for example, the paper analyzes the reflection of Stendhal＇s “self-consciousness” in his world of novels, combining the description of love in the novels with the author＇s potential psychological factors. Red and Black confirmed Stendhal＇s love rules, while the love in Red and White is the projection of Stendhal＇s personal love experiences.
