摘要
情态是人类语言的一个重要的语法范畴。语言学家和一些学者从哲学、语义学、语用学及认知语言学等角度对英语情态动词进行过深入广泛的研究。本文拟对以往的研究进行综述,并就情态动词将来的研究方向进行展望。
Modality is an important grammatical category in human languages. A lot of researchs on English modal verbs have been done from the perspective of philosophy, pragmatics, simantics and cognitive linguistics. This paper aims at summarizing the previous achievements and making some predictions about tiae directions in which the research on modal verbs is likely to move.
