Female poverty,intergenerational transmission and harmonious growth

从代际传承角度审视长期贫困的复杂性、持久性,是近年来经济学研究贫困问题的一个新视角。鉴于女性在抚育后代、家庭未来发展方面所具有的特殊性,使我们认识到贫困的代际传递与性别差异存在很强的关联度。贫困女性欠缺足够的营养健康、医疗保障和完整教育,弱化了她们对子女的早期喂养能力与早期教育能力,限制了子女成年后社会竞争力和自我提升能力,抑制了子女未来创造财富的能力发挥。

It is a new trend in the economics research to focus on the complexity of chronic poverty which is passed from one generation to another in households, and the potential poverty trajectories for those growing up in poor. This paper reviews the international literattLre on the intergenerafional transmission of female poverty, and discusses some of the most influential factors, such as education, health and tus, which effects their children＇ s early education, constrains their social competitiveness and self- promotion capability in the adult lives and limits their wealth creation ability in the future.
