在简要回顾聚落考古方法的历史基础上,重点就聚落考古实践中聚落考古单位的界定、共时性问题的把握等进行了讨论。强调从地层学和类型学入手,重视"活动面"的清理,并针对具体的学术目标灵活把握聚落考古研究中的"共时性"问题,是聚落考古研究中的关键。

After making a brief retrospection of the methodology about the settlement archaeology, the paper focuses on analyzing several problems involved in its practice, such as the defining of the unit for settlement archaeology, the handling of synchronicity, and so on. The paper lays emphasis on the importance of beginning the investigation with the stratigraphy and typology ; it also attaches great significance to the clearance of the ‘tctive surface＇ as well as a flexible application of the ‘synchronicity＇in the practice for specific research objects. All this is crucial to the settlement archaeology.
