西周官爵初探

The official and titular ranks of the Western Zhou Dynasty were in fact the ritual and hierarchical norms stipulated for its complex administrative bureaucratic system, which were especially important in the Zhou Dynasty emphasizing the hierarchical order of society. The paper made a rough summary of the official and titular ranks of the Western Zhou Dynasty and made an analysis of the influence Of officials＇ mobility upon their official uniforms in the system of the two strata of the official and titular ranks in the royal family and vassal of the Westem Zhou Dynasty. In addition, an analysis is made of some of the parallel and intersecting conditions concerning official and titular ranks as well as investiture. And an interpretation is made of the relevant problems like ＂shanggongyuemingyuebo＂, ＂wugoujiubo＂, ＂bo＂ and ＂mu＂.
